She has been a huge supporter and team member for the Freedom Arts Fest, and also graciously lends some of her works for display. Here is a photo of Tree and one of her sculpture pieces that we have on display (picture taken at a different gallery).

It is the mission of Make Art Matter, Inc to work with schools and community based organizations to start up eco art-projects that bridge environmental education, field trips and the arts. Call & Response Logo

Call + Response: Wednesday, October 13th 6:30 PM @ 7200 Freedom Blvd.  (Aptos Christian Fellowship)

CALL+RESPONSE is a first of its kind feature documentary film that reveals the world’s 27 million dirtiest secrets: there are more slaves today than ever before in human history. CALL+RESPONSE goes deep undercover where slavery is thriving from the child brothels of Cambodia to the slave brick kilns of rural India to reveal that in 2009, Slave Traders made more money than Google, Nike and Starbucks combined. Suggested donation $10.  http://www.callandresponse.com/

The Well is a venue for fostering community space, art, spirituality, and creativity.  It offers free wi-fi, gallery space to local artists, and sale of coffee, snacks, and other tasty treats.  The Well hosts the annual Freedom Arts Fests, student lounge for Aptos HS on Wednesdays, movie screenings, gallery space, the Mission Boutique, and a variety of discussion groups.

Easily accessible off of Hwy 1 and Freedom Blvd in Aptos @  Aptos Christian Fellowship’s foyer, The Well offers a contemplative, yet creative environment away from the distractions of the urban zones. Proceeds from the cafe and boutique go to benefit local and international outreach projects, ranging from education efforts in South Africa to a food pantry in our own back yard (literally).

The Well Cafe prototype launched at the Freedom Arts Fest, on October 2nd, 2010.  It officially opened five days a week in August of 2011.   Mellisa, our manager and creative energy behind the well, serves up an amazing menu of drinks, snacks, and home-made goodies.

In 2010 Cherice also put together a small boutique featuring recycled, fair trade, and local arts.  This “missions boutique” generates revenues to support outreach to the marginalized and disadvantaged all around the world.
